Dubai School Timings for Ramadan - KHDA

According to a circular sent to schools by Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) students in Dubai will attend up to five hours of classes during Ramadan.

According to the KHDA circular schools will start between 8am and 8.30am and end between 1pm and 1.30pm. However, in order to be able to cope with curriculum demands, there will be shorter breaks during the day.

Schools have also been instructed to stop carrying out physical exercise (PE) classes or any other demanding physical activities during Ramadan. Students are exempted from doing outdoor activities that may expose them to heat, in order to avoid the risk of exhaustion and dehydration.

Most schools have sent out circulars to parents enlisting the timings for the holy month. The bus pick up and drop off time will also change accordingly. 

Government departments will also have their work hours reduced during Ramadan, with timings slashed by two hours.

According to the UAE Federal Authority For Government Human Resources (FAHR), government employees will work from 9am to 2pm.
