Another WhichSchoolAdvisor.com Good School, the not for profit Indian High School in Oud Metha is one of the oldest schools in the UAE, dating back to 1961. It is currently rated Outstanding by the KHDA, a rating it has held for three years in a row. The Garhoud Junior School branch is rated Good.
As a combined entity this is a big school - 15,000 students with 800 teachers if you include its recently opened third campus in Dubai’s Silicon Oasis free zone. Even broken up these are very sizable schools: The Oud Metha branch alone contains over 5,866 students with 397 teachers, the Garhoud branch around 4,200 students.
At the Oud Metha branch students are said to achieve outstanding attainment and progress in English, mathematics and science and to display outstanding behaviour, work ethic and self-confidence. The school is also noted for its high quality of the curriculum, including a range of initiatives designed to improve the quality of learning; the high level of commitment by governors, leaders and teachers to the school and its students and to ongoing school improvement.
In feedback to us, you rate the school highly across the board, although there is a slightly lower satisfaction rating for Islamic Education than elsewhere.
