Dubai Student Abduction Attempt Foiled

An attempt was made last week to lure a Year 4 child into a car outside Dubai American Academy. Parents and students have been urged to be extra cautious.

Students and parents have been asked to be more vigilant after an incident at a Dubai school.

A stranger, outside a private school in Dubai, tried to lure a child into his car.

The incident happened at 7.10am outside Dubai American Academy (DAA) in Al Barsha area, radio station ARN News reported.

The incident was highlighted when its neighbouring American School of Dubai sent a message to parents.

According to the message, the suspect approached the child and said he knew the year 4 student’s father, and offered him sweets to get into the car.

The child entered his school, ignoring the man and reported the incident to the staff.

The man in the car has been described as "dark-skinned, wearing a black baseball cap" and "driving a black vehicle".

A GEMS Education spokesperson said: "The incident outside one of our schools was brought to our immediate attention and we confirm that all our students are safe. The matter is now being investigated by the authorities."
