Another Abu Dhabi based school, and also an England and Wales curriculum based school, Cambridge High School just eclipses The British School in terms of popularity when it comes to review views. In part this may be parents being realistic about where they are applying, however this GEMs Education school is no second best. It is rated A3 by ADEC, one of a small number rated Good by the Abu Dhabi Education Authority.
The strength of Cambridge is its students, who according to inspectors, "show a zeal for learning and for service that are remarkable". The children are said to fully "exploit to the full everything their teachers give to them and find great satisfaction in helping to run the school.” Standards at IGCSE, AS and A level are said to be “significantly above [the] best international standards”,
That said, this is a school that dropped one place in the latest round of reports, moving from A2 to A3 - a slip that no doubt will have disappointed the school and its highly committed stakeholders. This is no fault of the student body however, but with the systems required to monitor both the quality of teaching and to track students’ academic progress”, SEN support, and Arabic and Islamic Studies teaching.
Cambridge is clearly a school where the children really do get stuck in. As an environment for learning, there is no better thing a school can offer...
