#5 British School Abu Dhabi

The 5th most viewed school in the UAE in 2014, The British School in Abu Dhabi is one of the select's Good Schools. It is currently rated A2 by the Abu Dhabi Education Authority. The school is also ranked Excellent by the UK-based, Independent Schools Inspectorate.

The British School also records the highest WSA user rating in this list.

Established in 1968 the British School clearly has had time to bed down and to get its systems in place. It is in many ways a well oiled machine, serving, extraordinarily well, almost 2000 students. In 2013, the last set of results the school has published, 8.8% of A Level students achieved an A* and 37.3% of students achieved A* to A, 66.5% A* to B and 88% A* to C. At GCSE, 55.3% achieved A* to A, and 96% A* to C. Impressive indeed.

However the British School is more than just results, striving to develop the child as much as secure the results. "We unashamedly strive to develop happy and fulfilled children," the school claims. "Although we are in the business of teaching children to a high standard and shaping them into engaged learners, the BSAK experience offers much more than this. Our commitment to the moral, cultural and social development of our children means they become rounded, responsible and confident young people."

Perhaps unsurprisingly given its name and its origins, the biggest demographic - with just over half of the student population - is from the United Kingdom. However 50 different nationalities are represented in total. Like most UAE schools, The British School Abu Dhabi offers a truly multicultural, not just British, experience.
