New Unified School Inspections Begin
The Dubai School Inspection Bureau at Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announced yesterday it has started inspecting private schools in Dubai under the new unified UAE school inspection framework.
The authority announced that the newly adopted UAE wide unified framework was operational and would incentivise innovation and will push schools to become more inclusive.
The new framework has been developed collaboratively by the Ministry for Education (MOE), Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).
Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Chief of Dubai School Inspection Bureau added, "After seven years later of close cooperation with all private schools, we have made strides in ensuring the provision of high quality education to our students.”
“We are pleased to continue working together with the start of the eighth session of school inspection, which coincides with the launch of a new parameters to evaluate progress made by schools in achieving UAE national agenda,” she went on to say.
The UAE National Agenda Parameter will help schools to measure and monitor their progress towards achieving their individual National Agenda targets. It requires all private schools in Dubai to participate in international and external benchmarking assessments other than TIMSS and PISA on an annual basis.
Al Muhairi added, “the National Agenda Parameter will see schools participate in external benchmarking exams annually, and enable them to use the results data to improve the quality of their curricula."
“This year’s inspection will witness a qualitative leap in the methodology used to measure the progress made by private schools in Dubai. With less than six years to the year 2021, we hope to reach the goals in Vision 2021 to coincide with the golden jubilee celebrations of the formation of UAE,” she said.
