The well-established Georges Pompidou French International School officially opened a new elementary campus yesterday at Dubai Academic City. Around 750 pupils from grades 1 to 5 will be taught at the campus which sits close to the existing school where grades 6 to 12 are currently taught. The total number of students attending the school, which was first inaugurated in 2006, is 1,800.
An inauguration ceremony was conducted by Helene Conway-Mouret, Minister in charge of French Nationals Abroad and Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Director and Chairman of Knowledge and Human Development Authority.
Georges Pompidou French International School (also known as Lycée Français International Georges Pompidou) originally opened in Dubai in Oud Metha in 1994 and is still operating with a total of 600 students currently being taught at this school.
The school’s Sharjah campus, which was inaugurated in 1973, also celebrated its 40th anniversary yesterday.
