One of India's oldest educational institutions has announced its launch into the UAE's education sector.
The 184 year old CMI group, which currently runs 500 educational institutes, told Gulf Today it will be launching a new Dubai based school in September 2015.
The AMLED school, based behind Al Khail Mall will begin offering the CBSE curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 5 in the 2015/16 academic year.
Dr Mathew Vattathara, Director of AMLED School said, “CMI Rajagiri is keen to spread its educational footprint across the world and the UAE emerged as a natural choice due to the high number of Indian expatriates in the country. Our education standards are extremely high and, our students have consistently excelled at both academic and co-curricular levels.”
CMI's portfolio includes such sought after institutions as Christ University (Bengaluru), Rajagiri Higher Secondary School and Rajagiri Public School. The group hopes with so many CMI graduates already living and working in the UAE, that both the name and significant numbers of past alumni will attract students to AMLED.
Varghese Puthusserry, Principal of Amled School, told Gulf Today that there was a huge demand from ex-students living and working in the region for a school that could impart similar high-quality education standards to their children.
He went on to say, “our curriculum focuses on imparting skills-based knowledge using sequential learning techniques. Each child is an individual with his or her own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations. Therefore, our curriculum in these classes is structured to encourage and motivate them to become self-confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined, and thus help them achieve their full potential."
AMLED School is a joint undertaking between CMI Rajagiri Province and the Amled Facilities Management LLC chaired by Ahmad Khalil Khalid Al Meraikhi.
The group plans to add further schools in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the near future.
