1st= Cranleigh Abu Dhabi

A VERY impressive entry given this is a new school opening this year, but our very early Just Walk In test, conducted a few months after opening, was perhaps an indication away that this was going to be a school that its parents wanted to wrap their arms around.

"As you walk into the school the first impression is of an extremely cheerful and helpful Security guard on door duty who is greeted politely by students as they come and go. There is a very comfortable, homely seating area with large sofas for visitors. The entrance opens onto a large foyer which is light and airy. Offices are to the right of the foyer and great care has been taken to ensure that each has windows at both ends, so that the light streams through to the Reception area..."

Cranleigh, the sister school of its famous UK namesake, has yet to be inspected by ADEC, but we have no doubt it will do very well. This is a school that has a commitment to being the best in its blue blood. In fact it has even said it publicly with its headmaster, Brendan Law, stating the school "will become the leading school, especially in Abu Dhabi, if not in the Emirates..."

The school has adopted the motto of Cranleigh Abu Dhabi’s sister school in the UK, ‘Ex Cultu Robur’ (‘From Culture comes Strength’), which is in keeping with Saadiyat’s identity as the cultural heart of Abu Dhabi. Saadiyat Island will be home of the likes of the Louvre and Guggenheim. Not a bad place for a seat of learning to be at all...
