The first IB curriculum school to open in Dubai, 10 years ago this year, DIA currently has over 2000 children on its register, which makes its arrival on this list all the more impressive. As a school gets bigger, it is clearly difficult to keep all of its stakeholders happy.
One of the reasons for the satisfaction levels of parents will be its momentum. This is a school that is heading in all the right directions. While not yet an Outstanding school according to KHDA ratings, it has been ranked consistently as Good, and an in-depth reading of the school's current report shows it making significant headway into Outstanding territory across key metrics.
The school provides outstanding provision in Kindergarten as well as its Diploma Programme; Students’ show outstanding personal and social development; the curriculum too is deemed outstanding. What will make the school particularly happy with the latest report will be the assessment with the quality of leadership, governance and relationships with parents - again, all deemed outstanding.
DIA has made significant strides, according to the KHDA, in the "extensive involvement of parents in all facets of the school’s operations" with "parents highly attuned to all aspects of their child’s education". The school has" actively pursued further enhancements, including parents’ focus groups, an active and evolving parents’ association (Padia) and the mother-tongue languages initiative".
Given this rather unique push to include parents within the school, it is perhaps no surprise to find that reciprocated in the ringing endorsement the school has received in response, in our survey...
