1st= Merryland (100%)

Yet to be reviewed by - shame on us - the parents of Merryland have sent us a pretty powerful nudge with a 100% recommendation of the school.

We are not surprised the school gets such an overwhelming thumbs up. It is one of only eight schools in the capital to have received the A2 rating by ADEC, currently the highest award it offers, and one that signifies a school very much at the top of its game.

The school is located in the Musaffah area of Abu Dhabi. The school follows a British currculum - the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, followed by the Cambridge International curriculum. In Grade 10, students prepare for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), then take Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level Cambridge Board exams as they progress towards the full Advanced Level (A) examinations.

No one single nationality dominates. According to ADEC of the 2598 students enrolled, 79% are Muslim, 56% are boys, 20% are native speakers of Arabic and all students speak English as an additional language. There are 542 children in KG, 1056 in Grades 1 – 5, 736 in Grades 6 – 9 and 264 in Grades 10 – 12. Of the 44 nationalities represented at the school, 5% of students are Emirati. The majority originates from the Asian sub‐continent: Pakistan 36%, India 21% and Bangladesh 11%

The school is said to have strengths across the board. However its biggest strength lies in its students who show "very good behaviour around the school [with] respect shown to the environment, fellow students and adults..."
