12th Place: Foremarke (96% would recommend)
Foremarke has yet to be inspected by the KHDA's inspection team, but if its satisfaction ratings are any measure, it is going to get to an Outstanding rating faster than its sister school, Repton, which has had a more uneven ride, and relationship with parents, since opening.
Foremarke Dubai is the partner school of Foremarke Hall, Repton’s Preparatory School in the United Kingdom. Foremarke Hall is a very well-respected British prep school that succeeds both academically and in terms of developing the person. An independent report may be found here.
As such this is a school that is quite unique in Dubai. Its aim is to prepare its pupils for transition to private secondary schooling in the United Kingdom, rather than a transition to secondary schools in the UAE. As a result, it will only offer education to year 8. Beyond this level, Repton (with its recently achieved Outstanding rating) will guarantee places to Foremarke students.
Class sizes have a maximum of 16 pupils with an additional teaching assistant for any class with 12 pupils or more. All teachers are UK qualified, all have UK Prep School experience, and all have a minimum 10 years post-qualification work under their belts. The school’s facilities are excellent with a wide range of teaching and sports facilities and also a Dining Hall where children and staff sit down to a formal lunch catered by Gary Rhodes’s company each day. The school very much has the feel of an older, more established and more exclusive UK Prep School – exactly what they are aiming for.
