The 2015/16 KHDA inspection cycle saw Dubai’s first entirely IB curriculum school, Dubai International Academy, claim an Outstanding rating.

The total number of Outstanding IB/combined IB schools in Dubai now stands at five, these are; DIA, DAA, GEMS Wellington International School, JESS Arabian Ranches and Repton.

Two further IB schools fall into the KHDA’s new category, Very Good, these are, Deira International and GEMS Wellington Silicon Oasis. And, an additional nine IB schools are rated Good.

In total, 2016 saw 16 IB and combined IB curriculum schools rated between Outstanding and Good, giving parents seeking an IB curriculum extensive choice in location and fees, yet all offering a quality IB education.

Between them, the sixteen schools, offer parents various curriculum choices, these are; 'pure' IB, a UK curriculum to GCSE level followed by the IB Diploma and a combined US curriculum with the IB Diploma.

The IB schools remain the most expensive and even after the new 2016/17 fees were released by the KHDA they remained so. GEMS World Academy asks the highest fees in Dubai with a top price of AED 107,000 while Repton is second with AED 100,700.

In this report we have extracted the essential information from each schools new KHDA report to highlight; teacher-turnover, fees, attainment in the core subjects, student learning skills, curriculum and leadership.
