The KHDA has announced the third edition of its Saturday Clubs, offering access to designers and social entrepreneurs, and opening up a host of new activities to Dubai's most creative students.
The initiative is open to 12 to 15 year olds from schools across Dubai. Student get to "use their creativity in KHDA organised workshops and masterclasses". Conducted out of the classroom students connect with mentors in a creative setting.
Sessions are delivered by leaders and experts working in creativity and design, entrepreneurship, technology and wellbeing.
Partners in the project include Dubai Design & Fashion Council, Dubai Design District (d3), Dubai Creativity Clusters Authority and Dubai Culture and Amity University, while this year's winning project will be displayed at the Sikka Art Fair taking place in March 2018.
Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, chairman of the board of directors and director general of the KHDA, said, “the power of ideas can change the world for better and what’s more inspiring than uniting young people to look at ways to collaborate creatively.”
“By taking off the pressure of exams and putting the students with creative professionals – we are extending their creative horizon and turning their ideas into reality.”
