The Dubai Early Childhood Development Centre (DECDC) has organised a series of campaigns to raise awareness on autism among hospitals and government entities. The DECDC falls within the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai and the initiative comes as a part of CDA’s vision to support children with autism  "...by empowering them to become equal members of society".

The CDA has been active in pursuing community programmes and initiatives to promote public awareness about the disorder.

Dr Bushra Al Mulla, Director of DECDC, said: “This move is in line with our vision of creating awareness and understanding amongst the community about autism and early intervention thus enabling children with autism to integrate within the community.

"We also work on driving the role of partners through activating their CSR programmes in support of this vulnerable group."
