GEMS the UAE’s largest private school group has revealed that it is to open another UK curriculum school in Dubai in September 2016. The new school will be located in the Mudon community and will cater to children from KG to K12. It will cover 419,000 square metres and spread over three storeys. No details were revealed on the number of pupils which the school will be accepting.

GEMS currently operates 42 schools across the UAE with more than 140,000 pupils. The company opened two schools in Dubai for the 2014/2015 academic year, Gems FirstPoint School, located in The Villa development, and Gems Metropole School, in Motor City.

Media reports last month suggested that Blackstone Group and Fajr Capital were close to acquiring a 20 per cent stake in the schools operator in a deal said to be worth about US$350 million
