GEMS Education Group announced today that it had added Wesgreen International School in Sharjah to its network of schools.

The UK curriculum Wesgreen International School was established in 1991 and offers education from Pre-K to Grade 13. The school currently operates two campuses in Sharjah an Early Years facility in Al Quryan and Primary through Secondary in Al Muwailah.

The school coeducates children to Grade 4, when they are separated.

During the 2013/14 Sharjah Education Zone inspection at Wesgreen Al Quryan Campus was rated Highly Effective, the highest achievable rating given by the authority.

A GEMS press release highlighted the group plans to, “offer its global expertise and know-how to students, staff and the parent community of this school.

In addition, “students will also benefit from additional courses, as GEMS Education will aim to provide value to their overall experience with more extracurricular activities, access to GEMS-wide events, competitions and international university partnerships.”

Staff and teachers at Wesgreen can expect integration into the wider GEMS network and shared best practices.

Dino Varkey, Chief Executive Officer, GEMS Education, said, “with this addition to our network we are further reinforcing our commitment to the UAE 2021 Vision as well as strengthening our mission of providing quality education within the reach of every child. “

“GEMS looks forward to continuing the tradition of excellence at Wesgreen International School,” he said.
