Foremarke School has become the first school in the UAE, and only the second school globally, to have been given the status of an IAPS World Hub School, by The Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS).
Highly regarded Tanglin School in Singapore, was the first school, to be awarded the status.
IAPS, an association for the world’s preparatory schools with some 600 member schools, allows prep schools to carry the IAP kite-mark after accreditation, which, despite its young age, Foremarke appears to have passed with flying colours.
According to Mark Atkins, Principal of Foremarke: "We [have] joined an elite group of schools, able to proudly display the world recognised IAPS quality kite-mark. While this in itself is an achievement, Foremarke [has become] one of only two IAPS World Hub Schools. This is a huge accolade and recognises Forermarke’s standing as one of the two leading international prep schools in the world."
According to Atkins, Foremarke was given the status of a World Hub School because of its high quality facilities, efficient administration, strong school community, robust school policies and procedures, parent satisfaction and "most importantly", the quality of teaching and learning offered at the school.
Private schools in the UAE have been criticised by some parents as focusing on too narrow a range of priorities, and not yet offering the kind of environment and schooling found in UK, US and European private schools. Foremarke itself says it is the first true British prep school in the UAE.
