Dubai based iCademy Middle East has become the first online school in the Middle East to be accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
“I'm proud of the work our staff and school community have put into the accreditation process,” said Diane Claver iCademy Middle East head of school.
“We've benefited from the NEASC self-evaluation process to guide our development as a school.”
NEASC is an independent membership organisation that accredits over 2,000 US curriculum schools worldwide.
In 2016, the KHDA announced it was partnering with NEASC, “in order to ensure US schools offer valid, state-aligned curricula.”
At the time the KHDA announced that all US curriculum schools would require accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
“The NEASC teams that visited iCademy Middle East over the past two years along with staff from the KHDA were very helpful in guiding us through the accreditation process," said Cody Claver, general manager of iCademy Middle East.
“The NEASC and KHDA standards for quality education are high and we are encouraged that our school is being accredited by those standards,” he said.
iCademy Middle East is a private, U.S. diploma-granting school with a unique student body representing students from the GCC region and around the world.
Since its inception in 2008, iCademy has offered blended learning for Lower, Middle and High school students many of which have gone on to top US universities including: Duke, Harvard College, New York University, UCLA and Washington State and more.
