Cranleigh School in Abu Dhabi is set to welcome over 30 of Cranleigh UK’s top student musicians from 13th to 19th April 2016.

The event will be the school’s first formal student exchange residency.

The UK students will be joined by five members of UK staff who will work closely with Cranleigh Abu Dhabi's own Music Department, musicians and the whole school in a week of workshops, classes, rehearsals and performances.

Headmaster at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, Brendan Law said, “this is an excellent opportunity for both groups, staff and indeed the whole Cranleigh community to immerse themselves in music appreciation. The group will work together with workshops, classes, ensembles, rehearsals and performances to share ideas and resources.”

“We are pleased to be collaborating with the Abu Dhabi Festival for Richard Saxel’s and our own Hanna Wu’s piano recital that forms part of their Education and Community Programme. This recital will be an important opportunity for our students to understand the pleasure of attending a concert, listening and enjoying live music – an important tool for their busy adult lives ahead,” he went on to say.

“The exchange will forge long-term friendships and an even closer bond between our schools. Please sit back and enjoy our beautiful auditorium come alive with music,” said Law.

For those who would like to hear the collaborative results, the Cranleigh Abu Dhabi community, as well as those attending the Open Day on 18th April are invited to experience the performances.

Cranleigh Abu Dhabi currently has availability in Years 5 to 11, those interested are encouraged to sign up for the Open Day on Monday 18th April.
