LET'S GO

Concerns that key Indian curriculum examinations would be disrupted as a result of the upcoming elections in the country have been allayed following an announcement by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The statement issued by the CBSE states that examinations for classes 10 and 12 will begin from March 1. The class 10 examination will be completed by March 19 and those for class 12 will end by April 17.  These dates apply to schools within India and all schools, including the UAE, which operate the curriculum overseas.

There had been worries by parents and pupils that the examinations would be put back and these concerns were being voiced in the last three months over social media.

Around 226,5000 students in total have registered for the 2014 CBSE Board exam compared to 217,6000 students in 2013, according to local media reports.
