If your kids' Minecraft habit is driving you bonkers, then the 2016 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature might have something right-up-your-street!
This year, the book-fest will be welcoming teen author Sean Fay Wolfe, author of the 'The Elementia Chronicles,' a blockbuster series based on the world's most popular video game.
Fay says as well as his passion for storytelling, "I am also an avid gamer. It was my love of the Minecraft game and the platform that it provides for endless creativity that inspired me to create the tale that I tell in the Elementia Chronicles."
"The story stays true to the game," he says, "while being packed with action and adventure. I was inspired by some of my favorite books, such as "Harry Potter" and "The Hunger Games", as well as my favorite animated TV series "Avatar The Last Airbender" and it's sequel "The Legend of Korra."
It all began for Fay back in 2014- when at the grand old age of 16 he self-published 'Quest for Justice,' the first book in 'The Elementia Chronicles,' an action/ adventure trilogy set in the world of Minecraft.
Since then, Fay Wolfe has signed with HarperCollins to have the trilogy published worldwide and has been invited to speak at Minecraft conventions around the globe, including MineCon 2015 in London, the largest Minecraft convention in the world and the 2015 San Diego ComicCon.
These days Fay has made it his mission to visit schools across the US and use Minecraft to encourage children to discover a fresh love of reading and writing.
In addition to being an unstoppable young storyteller, Fay Wolfe is an avid Minecraft player and loves creating action adventure tales in its endlessly creative virtual world.
If you've got reluctant readers who simply love gaming, this might be just the push they need to 'merge' the two.'
Sean Fay Wolfe will be appearing in both solo and panel discussions during the Emirates Festival of Literature 2016. The festival will be held at Festival City between the 1st and 12th of March 2016. For more information about his sessions and the festival visit: here
