British Orchard Nursery Opens in Silicon Oasis

The British Orchard nursery has inaugurated its newest facility at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park. The nursery caters to children from six months of age to over four years.

British Orchard nurseries are currently not regulated by the KHDA. This is something Which School Advisor is hoping all nurseries move towards because it will require early years learning centres to meet standards, and be subject to annual KHDA inspections and reports. New nurseries, that include a curriculum such as EYFS, are now required to fall under the Dubai education regulator's umbrella. Nurseries that do not aim to teach young pupils, or existing nurseries, do not need to apply to the KHDA.

Vandana Gandhi, founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery, said: “Our highly trained staff will look after the children, and the facilities will also include our in-house specialised children’s gym, a library, a role play area to develop social and imaginative skills, a construction area where children recreate real life situations, a painting area to nurture creativity, as well as other educational and recreational offerings.”

Interestingly, and unusually, British Orchard offers a franchise operation to open one of its schools. It is not clear if this is a franchise or owned by the British Orchard group.
