Greenfield Community School

Age: 3 to 18 years old
Fees: AED 42,933 to AED 79,062

What the KHDA says: Greenfield has significantly improved its maths provision across the whole school, however it still has a way to go, as does Arabic language and Islamic Education.

Teaching is variable across grades, phases and subjects but remains Good overall. There are some areas for development with the assessment of learning, particularly the effectiveness of the strategies leaders use to measure progress and the use of data by teachers to modify planning for the different groups of students. However, the introduction of external benchmarked testing is providing accurate information.

The curriculum has been thoroughly revised and in the PYP and the MYP, aligned to external benchmarks to provide more challenging standards. The opportunities for all students to successfully progress through grades 11 and 12 are excellent.

Innovation: The school provides opportunities for innovation through its inquiry learning approach and student initiated projects however the report notes a coherent plan is required to take innovation further.

Facilities: Six-lane shaded competitive swimming pool, shaded learning pool, hard surface tennis courts, fully equipped gym, full size soccer/rugby sports field, mini pitch, age-appropriate play areas (shaded outdoor and indoor), auditorium/theatre, amphitheatre, IT collaboration room, ICT laboratories, Design and technology laboratories, food technology room, science laboratories, Primary and Secondary libraries, mindfulness room, drama studio,  music studios, dance studio, art studios, Primary and Secondary cafeterias, health centres with full-time doctor and two nurses.

Notes: Greefield is unique in that it is one of the few schools offering the IB career programme as well as the IB Diploma.
