What the KHDA says: Overall, 19 unique indicators improved at Uptown in 2016/17, meaning the school rose from a Good to Very Good rating.

Inspectors rated the curriculum and curriculum adaption Outstanding. They also found relationships with the community, governance, health and safety and much of student personal and social development to be Outstanding at Uptown.

Inspectors highlighted, “ achievement in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) in English, mathematics and science is Very Good. Progress in Kindergarten (KG) English, mathematics and science is Very Good and in the Diploma Programme (DP), progress in English and science is also is Very Good.”

Innovation: School leaders are fully committed to innovation and respond exceptionally well to student and teacher initiatives.

Facilities: Three science laboratories, libraries for KG, Primary and Secondary schools with Wi-Fi study rooms, full wireless connectivity and ITC integrated classrooms, iPads for KG, hardwood-sprung floor gymnasium and an indoor 25-meter, eight-lane pool, KG gym and pool, two regulations-size pitches for football, indoor basketball courts, outdoor tennis courts, track and field facilities for long jump and javelin, a 120-meter running track and multi-purpose sport activity spaces, hot and cold catering facilities, performance spaces and multiple practice rooms, plus dedicated KG music room.
