ADEC has awarded its first ever ‘Outstanding’ rating during a school inspection to Aldar Academies- Al Muna Primary School.

The report indicated that in ADEC’s six core performance standards – Student’s Achievement; Student’s Personal and Social Development; Teaching and Assessment, Curriculum; Protection, Care, Guidance and Support; and Leadership and Management – Al Muna received “Outstanding” marks.

This is the first time a school has been awarded an “Outstanding” rating since ADEC began inspections in 2009 and makes it one in 185 private schools in Abu Dhabi to receive this grade.

Peter Carpenter, Aldar Academies’ Director of Education, said, “this is an exceptional report, which is richly deserved by an exceptional group of students, staff and school leaders.  Our pupils at Al Muna are confident, effective learners and achieve highly as a consequence of the excellent education offered by our staff. Inspiring teaching and the use of first class resources and facilities ensures that we deliver a curriculum which is stimulating, innovative and creative”.

The ADEC report highlighted Al Muna’s high performance across all measures, noting, “the design, implementation and adaptation of the curriculum are outstanding. The highly effective planning creates modifications to successfully engage and meet the learning needs of students of all abilities.”

The report also highlighted the strength of students’ technological knowledge and skills- stating, “students throughout the school have excellent language skills in English, well-developed learning skills, and are highly proficient in using information and communication technology (ICT) as a learning tool in all subjects.”
