Al Diyafah's 'International' Launch in Abu Dhabi

Dubai based Al Diyafah High School is opening a new sister school in Abu Dhabi this September.

The new school, “Diyafa International School” will deliver the British National Curriculum for primary children, from 3-9 years of age and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 5. Registrations for places have now opened for parents interested in enrolling their children to start the school in the new academic year in September.

Its sister school is currently ranked Good, the second highest rating of Dubai's education regulator, the KHDA. The school is home to 1500, predominantly Indian students, and takes children from 3 to 18 years of age. It too follows a UK based curriculum.

Peter Winder, executive principal of the school, said: “We are delighted to be opening Diyafah International School in Abu Dhabi in September. The school will provide a high quality, affordable education, catering to the individual needs of the students."

The Dubai based school is one of the most affordable UK curriculum schools in the emirate with fees that range from 7,500 AED at KG to 16,000 AED in Year 12. It will be interesting to see how closely fees match at the two schools.

According to Al Diyafah school, the school will expand to enable students joining in September "to seamlessly progress" from the primary to secondary phases of the British National Curriculum to eventually take their ‘A’ levels.

"We will be providing a differentiated and progressive curriculum with planned learning programmes that provide every child with an extensive range of opportunities to be successful and enjoy their time at DIS,” Winder added.

The Dubai offering is one of the most established schools in emirate. It was founded over 30 years ago, in September 1982, as a nursery with only 2 children in a small villa located on Dubai's busy Al Diyafah Street.
