Al Ain Student Gets World's Highest GCSE Arabic Grade
Mohammed Al-Qawasmeh, a student of outstanding rated Brighton College Al Ain has been awarded the highest GCSE grade for Arabic in the world.
Jordanian Mohammed Al-Qawasmeh said his biggest inspiration to excel in studies was his mum, who just so happens to have a PhD in education.
Speaking on the secret of his success, he said: “To always be completely systematic in my exams. I always allow myself much longer than others to check and double check every single detail of each answer.”
Dr. Ken Greig, Head Master of Brighton College Al Ain said:
“We believe in and understand the importance of integrating and using Arabic as a first or additional language throughout the College’s culture and daily life and continually seek opportunities for pupils to experience and demonstrate ease with Arabic outside the classroom: in assemblies, exhibitions and other educational settings in which they may find themselves."
He added that Mohammed’s achievement is testament to his hard work and the support of the teachers at Brighton College.
Mohammed joined Brighton College Al Ain in its opening year and is currently studying Physics, Chemistry and Biology at A-Level.
His aim is to become a surgeon, he is also a keen basketball player and loves to read, in Arabic, about Arab history and civilization.
