The KHDA has announced it expects around 120 new schools to open over the next 10 years.
The schools will be required to house the projected 470,000 new students expected in the city.
Dr Abdulla Al Karam, director general of KHDA said, “Dubai is a community which thrives on collaboration and it represents an opportunity for everyone."
"We have seen consistent and strong growth in private education over the years and this has contributed to an improvement in the overall standard of living and long-term economic growth for Dubai.”
Dubai's student enrolments have grown by 89 percent in the last 10 years.
Dubai currently has 185 private schools with 273,599 students from 187 different nations.
Of these, 32,116 are Emirati, 93,013 are Indian, 22,754 are Pakistani, 14,172 are Egyptian and 13,149 are British.
An additional 10 new schools will open this September, providing additional school seats to keep up with Dubai's growing demand for education.
Higher education institutions in Dubai reported a 9.6 per cent annual growth in the last six years with a 73 per cent uptick in student enrolments.
