St Stephen’s International School, Bangkok is a high-achieving British school that takes students from nursery through to university level.

Conveniently situated adjacent to the main Viphavadi Rangsit Road, St Stephen’s provides an education for students from Nursery to Year 13. Its English-based curriculum incorporates the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and its big brother, the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), culminating in IGCSEs and A Levels.

"This provides for all of our students’ academic needs as well as developing in them the qualities and dispositions that we feel are important in today’s world."

Teaching staff are recruited from overseas, with the exception of the Thai, and Mandarin music departments, and the majority of teachers are from the UK. The school has a strong academic record. At IGCSE, the school averages 85% of all examinations at grade C and above, with 40% of IGCSE grades at A or A*. Most students each take eight IGCSEs.

At AS (Advanced Subsidiary) Level, taken at the end of Year 12, students on average achieve a 95% pass rate, with around 50% of grades at A or B. This examination is the first half of the full A Level.

At A2, the full A Level taken at the end of Year 13, students in most years achieve a 100% pass rate, with an average of nearly 60% of grades at A*, A, or B.

Every year students win CIE prizes, which in recent years have included the Top in Thailand prizes in popular subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.

The school says:

"At St Stephen’s we certainly prize and celebrate academic success, but as a non-selective school we realise that it is the progress of individuals that really counts and we seek to maximise that progress for each student in a safe and nurturing environment."

SIS Bangkok is a fairly small school with a high number of students involved in activities such as sport and drama. It’s a non-selective school with a strong focus on student enrichment, including community service, extra-curricular activities, a prefect system, the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, and house activities. SIS Bangkok also runs several education trips, including an annual residential visit to the SIS Khao Yai campus.

In the school’s own words it is,

“Big enough to be able to offer a strong learning curriculum and many opportunities to our children, yet small enough to retain a warm, friendly, family feeling.”

Specialist facilities include a library, music department, IT labs, home economics room, science labs, multi-purpose room, dedicated sixth form centre, art room, swimming pool, covered basketball court, and football pitch.
