Si Ri Panya International School has received its licence from the Thai Ministry of Education to become the first international school in Koh Phangan. The primary school will officially open on September 4 to offer the UK curriculum for children aged five to 12 years.
Located in Bantai, the school was founded in 2012 but has only now been licensed by the government to teach a full international British curriculum for primary aged children. Si Ri Panya has enrolled nearly 100 students to start this month, and the opening of the island’s first official international school will appeal to local and expat families alike.
Si Ri Panya International School is run by local Thai Wijetson Bunchuoy and his British wife, Nicola, and the founding head Lisa Lennon.
