Enrolment is now open for the new Ruamrudee International School (RIS) campus in Ratchapruek, which is due to open in August 2019 for students in Pre K2 to Grade 5.
Ruamrudee International School (RIS) will open a second campus in Ratchapruek in August 2019 for students from Pre K2 to Grade 5, with plans to expand up to Grade 12 in future years.
Founded in 1957, RIS is one of Bangkok’s oldest and most established schools. The all-through suburban Catholic school currently teaches an American curriculum to 1,200 students across its 28-acre campus in the Min Buri district. The new Ratchapruek school will be a smaller campus spread across a 4.3 acre-site in Bang Kruai on Sai Noi Road (between Simuang Alley and Bangkrang 50 Alley); the campus is about 3km from The Walk Ratchapruek.
Similar to the existing RIS, teaching will follow an American modified curriculum. Fees will be the same as at the RIS Minburi campus, ranging from THB 378,400 baht for PreK 2 up to THB 627,400 for Grades 1-5.
Facilities at the new campus will include an indoor salt water swimming pool, a learning zone, library, and "progressive student-centred classrooms".
The school says:
"The new campus will mirror the philosophy of RIS, namely its uncompromising dedication to a high quality international education that offers academic challenge, dynamic aspiration, and student-centred teaching and learning in a supportive and inclusive community".
The founding principal will be Matthew Fahey, who has worked at the existing RIS campus since 2006.
