There's a growing number of British public schools offering a pathway to a UK higher education at international campuses in Thailand - but Heathfield International School, Bangkok (HISB) was one of the first.
Since opening its school gates in Bangkok more than 10 years ago, this all-through, co-ed school has been offering an archetypal public-school education to a mix of expat and local students.
Affiliated to Heathfield School UK, a day school in Worcestershire, Heathfield International School, Bangkok (HISB) offers the traditional UK National Curriculum leading to IGCSEs and A Levels – with lessons being taught by predominantly UK educated teaching staff. The school is open for nursery through to Year 13 and, in many ways, it meets the expectations of any quality independent UK school. Compared to some other British public schools here, though, HISB feels much smaller, more family oriented, and community driven. Like its British affiliate, HISB is a small school with a population of just 180 students.
Formerly knowns as Lord Shaftesbury School, HISB offers scholarships to students in Years 1 upwards for outstanding achievement or talent in academia, sport and the arts.
