From its offering of IGCSEs and A Levels through to its house system, Garden International School, Bangkok (GIS) is a typically British school.

When looking for schools in Thailand that offer a British curriculum, parents are spoilt for choice. While some may look for sprawling campuses and a large student population, other families will prefer the close-knit community of a smaller school like Garden International School, Bangkok (GIS).

GIS is tucked away in a quiet, leafy green corner of Sathorn, one of the main business districts of Bangkok. It has two city campuses, which are separated by Yen Akart Road. Both campuses follow the UK National Curriculum; the First School campus takes early years through to Year 2, and the Upper School campus teaches Years 3-13 and works towards IGCSEs and A Levels.

GIS has a strong academic record. In 2017, 95% of students scored at least five IGCSEs with grades A*-Cs and 52% were graded A* or A. The majority of its students go on to study at universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Thailand.

There are 350 students across the two campuses, representing more than 20 different nationalities. As well as involving all students in house activities, the school runs an outdoor education residential programme from Year 3, which focuses on leadership, teamwork, competitive spirit and community service. There's also a daily programme of extra-curricular activities, with many being run by the teachers and free of charge.

GIS is part of the Malaysia-based Taylor's Education Group, which owns schools across South East Asia including Nexus International School in Singapore. It also has a day and boarding school in Thailand's Eastern Seaboard, where students can study IGCSEs and the IBDP.
