There aren't that many international schools in southern Thailand that are as deeply rooted in Britishness as Bloomsbury International School Hatyai. This charming all-through school offers the National Curriculum for England leading to IGCSEs and A Levels, has a predominantly British teaching staff, has a UK-style house system, and even has the straw boater as part of its uniform. That said, it has a truly international student population, with families from South East Asia, Europe, Brazil, and the West Indies.
Teaching begins with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and then follows the National Curriculum for England from Years 1 – 13. In Years 10 and 11, Bloomsbury International School offers IGCSEs, with courses including English, maths, science, Thai, ICT, travel and tourism, business studies, and art and design, as well as PE and drama. In Years 12 – 13, students study for their A Levels, choosing from subjects including English, maths, biology, ICT, global perspectives, business studies, geography, and art and design.
Bloomsbury's purpose-built campus is just a short drive from Hatyai International Airport, and there are plans to develop boarding houses on the campus.
