Here’s a schedule of international school holidays as well as public holidays in 2023. Do bear in mind that some of the school holidays may differ.

These are the dates however that you can pencil in your diaries so you can start planning your mini-breaks and long summer holidays from... now!

New Year's Day:  January 1

Chinese New Year:  January 22

Makha Bucha Day:  March 6

Chakri Day:  April 6

Songkran:  April 13-16

Labour Day:  May 1

Coronation Day:  May 4

Visakha Bucha Holiday:  June 5

Asahna Bucha Day:  August 1

Buddhist Lent Day (Khao Phansa Day):  July 7

King Maha Vajiralongkorn's Birthday:  July 28

Her Majesty the Queen Mother's Birthday Holiday: August 14

King Bhumibol Memorial Day:  October 13

King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day:  October 23

King Bhumibol's Birthday:  December 5

Constitution Day Holiday:  December 11

Christmas Day:  December 25

New Year's Eve:  December 31

2023 Thailand's school holidays 

Schools following the Indian curriculum follow the April to March calendar of their home country and incorporate local holidays within this.

Schools following the Northern hemisphere academic calendar (UK, European and North American schools) run from August/September to June/July. Holidays are typically taken in October, December, and March-April.

Christmas Holidays 2023-24

The Christmas holidays or winter break will start from December 14 and term will start at most schools between January 2-6, 2024.

Spring Half Term

Half term holidays are dependent on your school but they will mostly fall between February 10-14.

Spring Holidays

Songkran Festival will be included in the spring/Easter holidays from April 6 to 17.

Summer Holidays

Depending upon the school, the last day of the 2023-24 academic year is expected to be between June 12-26 2023.
