Founded in 1957, the all-through suburban Catholic school currently teaches an American curriculum to 1,200 students across its 28-acre campus in the Min Buri district. It will open a new campus in Ratchapruek in August 2019 for students from Pre K2 to Grade 5, with plans to expand up to Grade 12 in future years.
Facilities at the new Ratchapruek campus will include an indoor salt water swimming pool, a learning zone, library, and "progressive student-centred classrooms". The school says that the new campus will "mirror the philosophy of RIS, namely its uncompromising dedication to a high quality international education that offers academic challenge, dynamic aspiration, and student-centred teaching and learning in a supportive and inclusive community".
The founding principal will be Matthew Fahey, who has worked at the existing RIS campus since 2006.
