LET'S GO

A new all-through school offering an American-style education will open in Bangkok in September 2019. Located in the Rama II area, BASIS International School Bangkok (BISB) will open with a pre-school through to Grade 5, and it will add one extra grade every year up until Grade 12.

This new international school is part of the US-based network of BASIS schools, which all have a science, technology, engineering and math-focused curriculum. Other courses include music, economics, history, art, and sport, and we should expect a well-rounded programme of extra-curricular activities. The school will follow the Advanced Placement (AP) programme, and eventually offer AP exams.

Carolyn McGarvey, CEO of BASIS International, said:

"In today's digitized global world, the need for professional, multilingual international teachers with a real interest in children's futures and an ability to help structure them is regarded as increasingly important. That's the goal of BASIS International School Bangkok: putting children in a place that provides them with the best opportunities for what lies ahead."

BASIS Bangkok will be the group's fifth international school; its other schools outside the US are located in China.
