King’s College School, Wimbledon will open an international school in Bangkok in 2020. The new King’s College International School Bangkok will be an all-through British school for 1,500 students aged two to 18 years.
The campus in Ratchadaphisek-Rama III Road follows openings of King’s College schools in China in 2018, and will be the third international branch of the independent school in the UK.
The UK school, founded in 1829, is an academic high achiever. In 2017, 46% of results at A Level were A* 85.6 were A*-A and 97.2 A*-B. In 2017, King's College School has won The Sunday Times award for the top London independent secondary school.
The Thai school is a joint partnership between King’s and the Excellent Education of Thailand Ltd (XET), will enrol both local Thai and expat students. In line with other King's schools, teaching will follow the UK curriculum and offer IGCSEs and A levels.
Facilities will include a sports complex with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 600-seater auditorium, and specialist science, music and art resources.
