In an online announcement to teachers India's Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal yesterday said that both sets of CBSE examinations would now take place 'after February'. The Class 10 and 12 exams are usually held in January and February.

There has been a good deal of understandable anxiety among students, parents and teachers about the timing and format of the 2021 examination programme.  The minister also confirmed that the examinations will not take place online but will be conducted in-person, clearly taking into account prevailing guidance about safety.

The students will have a minimum of 30 days notice of the commencement of the exam programme.
