What we know
BASIS International School Bangkok (BISB) will open in 2019 with a pre-school through to Grade 5, and will add one extra grade every year up until Grade 12. As part of the US-based network of BASIS schools, this Thai outpost is the group's fifth international school; the others are located in China.

In line with all BASIS schools, it will offer an American-style education that prepares students for college and university. BASIS has a reputation for its science, technology, engineering and math-focused curriculum. At primary school level (Grades 1-4), we can expect a programme that is as much focused on academia as it is on "critical thinking, organizational skills, time management, study skills, and behavioural expectations"; this focus continues in middle school (Grades 5-7). In upper school (Grades 8-12), students complete one year in economics, enrol in diploma and AP courses, and work on various capstone projects.
