A small wave of new schools is bringing a very British education to Thailand. The export of the British independent school brand is nothing new in a country where the likes of Harrow and Bromsgrove have been open for at least 10 years. The 2017-18 academic year started with the opening of two new schools including Brighton College Thailand and Rugby School Thailand. Looking ahead, Shrewsbury International School (City Campus) and Wellington College International School will open their doors in September 2018. And, offering an American-style education, BASIS International School Bangkok is due to open in 2019.
Other new openings in 2017 have been two British curriculum schools – St Andrews International School Bangkok (Srivikon) and Bangkok International Preparatory School (Sukhumvit 77) – and the English/French stream BCIS Phuket School.
