SIM International Academy (SIM IA) combines some of the best elements of a Western education with Asian values and approaches to learning. Owned by the Singapore Institute of Management, a private education provider that is popular with Singaporeans, this international school has a small intake of just 100 local and foreign students aged 12-18 years.

Founded in 2017, SIM International Academy (SIM IA) follows an international curriculum that works towards IGCSEs in Year 10 and A Levels or an SIM Diploma (which leads to an undergraduate programme with one of SIM’s partner universities) in Years 11-12. Teachers have been largely recruited from mainstream Singaporean schools, perhaps one of the reasons why SIM IA has been described by parents as a popular alternative to a local secondary school. The school also offers a stepping stone to further education in SIM’s global network of university partners.

There’s a strong focus on applied learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and social sciences here; also, all students study Global Citizenship Education (GCE), a non-examinable humanities subject that has been developed by SIM IA. Beyond the classroom, SIM IA offers a broad programme of co-curricular activities and service-learning project; boarding facilities are also available.
