Lodestar Montessori School in the north east stands out in Singapore for its Montessori curriculum up to Grade 6 and its affordable tuition fees.

Lodestar Montessori School is open for elementary school for ages six to nine. It’s a school that describes itself as having “a passion for Montessori” and takes “the Montessori pedagogy very seriously” within its small community of less than 100 students. Lodestar has a tiny campus of just two classrooms, which it refers to as a “home away from home”.

The school follows the Montessori Elementary curriculum, covering English, maths, science, geography, history and geometry. It is one of Singapore’s most affordable schools, with an annual fee of SGP 18,000 paid over six instalments. While parents may be drawn to the cheaper fees, it’s important to bear in mind that Lodestar does not have the state-of-the-art facilities of other international schools and does not even offer sports as part of its curriculum.
