WhichSchoolAdvisor's annual school survey.

Welcome to the Integrated International School (IIS) official Q and A page. Here we ask the questions, and the school answers directly. It is its chance to have its say on specific areas you have told us you want to know about. If you think there are additional questions we should be asking you may contact us here.

Does your school have a waiting list? In which years?

We accept rolling admissions throughout the year.

What are qualities and characteristics that define your school and its students?

From enrichment to high school, your child will undergo major developmental leaps and experiences which will shape their ambitions and outlook on life. IIS stands ready for the challenge!

School is right up there as one of the most important influencers for school-age children so we know choosing the right school for your family can be a nerve-racking decision. In Singapore, schools tend to place too much emphasis purely on academic excellence, resulting in a high-pressure environment where not every child thrives equally.

At the Integrated International School, we firmly believe that the traditional ‘one size fits all’ approach to learning just doesn’t work. Multiple intelligences matter. That is why we offer two teaching approaches: one for mainstream students, who benefit from our diverse educational expertise and supportive environment; and the other for mainstream students with individualised needs, who benefit from the additional resources and learning support available in-house.

How many nationalities are represented in your school? How international would you say your school is?

23 and growing.

Are there high proportions of a particular nationality?

We have a wonderful mix of nationalities with a majority of students from Australia, Singapore, United States of America, India and United Kingdom.

What is the teacher: student ratio in your school?

Primary (1:5) and Secondary (1:6)

Describe your school's approach to education and teaching?

Founded in 2009 by Dr Vanessa von Auer, one of Asia’s leading child experts, IIS is built on the principle that every child is capable of success that goes beyond one definition. We believe that success spans across a wide spectrum of possibilities. We know that no two students are the same, and that no individual child has the same response to learning in every situation – and that’s a great thing!

Our ultimate goal is to challenge our students to achieve the highest level of their own personal definition of success. Whatever their learning style may be, our educators are uniquely qualified to adapt lesson plans to each individual student’s strengths or preferred intelligence.

Supporting your child along their own path to success is what we work towards every single day. We believe that every child deserves a great quality education and the opportunity to be a successful human being. From this belief stems our motto that every child can be successful with a personalised education

Physical education and sport is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle. How does your school ensure children engage in physical activity?

We offer PE classes at least twice a week to our students.

How do you promote healthy eating?

We have a great partnership with The New Luncher, who provide delicious and healthy meals that are delivered fresh every day.

Does the school have cafeteria facilities for the students? How does it promote a balanced diet?

What is the starting and finishing time of your school day?

School begins at 9:00am and finishes at 2:00pm for Primary students and 3:00pm for Secondary students.

Is there a school uniform?

Do you have a learning support team in your school?

As a truly inclusive international school, we have a dedicated and specialist support team that include counsellors, behavioral, speech and occupational therapists.

Does your school have particular expertise in dealing with a specific learning need such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, aspergers syndrome and so forth?

IIS has always welcomed in students of all learning abilities and provide specialist support on campus.
