Originally opened as a higher education college in 1980, Dimensions has diversified to also offer a Cambridge certified primary and secondary education to students aged six years upwards. The school runs courses in Cambridge Primary, Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCEs), and Cambridge General Certificate of Education (GCE A-Level). It also runs complimentary preparatory classes for the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS) (Primary programme), which may appeal to expats trying to get a place in a local school.
Founded in 2001, Dimensions has three well-equipped, modern campuses. Although they are not as glitzy or state-of-the-art as some private schools in Singapore, Dimensions is one of Singapore’s more affordable schools, with annual tuition fees starting at $12,600 for primary.
The school describes itself as “a springboard for helping students to obtain entry into government schools and institutions.” It has a strong track record in achieving this; in 2019, more than 100 international students were admitted to mainstream government-run schools in Singapore after passing their AEIS and S-AEIS examinations at Dimensions.

Dimensions offers several different pathways for students of all ages. For students aged 12 years and above who want to enrol into an MOE secondary school in Secondary 1, 2 or 3, the school runs a six-month Preparatory Course designed to prepare international students to sit for the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS) Test. The AEIS involves a centralised test on English and maths, and is held in September/October of each year; international students who are successful in the AEIS Test go on to join an MOE school in January of the following year.
Alternatively, for students aged 12 years and above who want to follow a more international education, Dimensions offers a Cambridge secondary curriculum; this works towards the internationally recognised IGCSE qualifications. Teaching focuses on English, maths, science, PE, basic commerce and management, and a choice of Chinese, Malay, Hindi, Tamil, and French. Students must complete the MOE's Primary Six or equivalent qualification to start this course.
Then, for international students who want to go onto university and higher education, Dimensions offers a two-year Cambridge International A Level course. This course includes maths, physics, chemistry, and a choice of accounting, business, economics, biology, or further maths. This course is open to students aged 16 years and above who have IGCSE or equivalent qualifications.
Dimensions also offers a Cambridge primary curriculum for international students aged 6 to 12 years. Teaching focuses on English, maths, science, art, PE, music, and social studies; optional language subjects include Chinese, Malay, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Tagalog, and French. This pathway will be of interest to students who plan to follow the Cambridge secondary curriculum and work towards IGCSEs.
Dimensions is spread across three campuses in Singapore. Its main campus is on the site of a former government school just five minutes’ walk away from the Kovan MRT Station, and has large classrooms within low-rise buildings. Facilities include a library, music room, technology centre, an auditorium, art room, and physics and chemistry labs, as well as basketball court and an open field. The school has two other campuses in the city-state – the City campus, which offers higher education courses, and the Bukit Timah campus, which has a School of Hospitality.
Annual tuition fees start at $12,600 for primary, and including all additional fees will cost you $18,532; this is significantly cheaper than many international primary schools in Singapore. Fees for IGCSE and A Level courses are also lower than the average at $13,600 and $18,600 respectively.
