UWC South East Asia (Dover campus) Makerspace

In a school the size of UWCSEA’s Dover campus, it is hardly surprising to find a makerspace that’s as big as a small department. The IDEAS Hub is a large makerspace that’s equipped with traditional and modern facilities to create an inspirational, student-directed learning space. This is a makerspace with such a strong presence in the school that it even has its own website, Facebook and Instagram accounts, and very own Culture Club.

As well as being used during timetabled lessons, The IDEAS Hub is used for after-school activities such as eco-design masterclasses, competitions in coding, computer science and film-making.

UWCSEA says: “All students have timetabled lessons in the Ideas Hub, and this space gives teachers an opportunity to teach in different ways and engage the individual on different levels.”
