CIS offers all three IB programmes – the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme – and it has been delivering a high-quality education to expats for more than 25 years. While its curriculum is not exclusively Canadian, its approach to teaching does follow Canada’s student-led model.

Standout features include the bilingual programmes in Chinese-English for KG to Grade 7 and French-English for Grades 1-4, its focus on outdoor learning, and a unique approach to teaching STEAM. The Lakeside campus is the newer, bigger brother of the two CIS schools; the Tanjong Katong campus is far less modern and only offers an IB education up to Grade 6.

There’s a strong feeling amongst parents that CIS has the best bilingual programme in Singapore, or as one parent says it is, “The only international school in Singapore with the most complete Chinese-English bilingual education”. It’s definitely seen as one of the key reasons for parents choosing the school, and an overwhelming majority (87%) say they would not consider moving their child from CIS.
