ICS is a warm and welcoming school that offers a strong US and distinctly Christian education. Popular with American and Christian expat families alike, ICS offers a US college prep curriculum that works towards Advanced Placement exams. Singapore’s only Christian school, ICS operates within the framework of Christian principles and expects all students to attend compulsory weekly Bible classes.

It has a low teacher to student ratio of 1:7, mid-range fees and a close-knit community with strong ties between parents and the school. ICS is one of several international schools in Singapore to occupy a former MOE government school. While this means it has an older, less glitzy campus than some of the new purpose-built schools here, ICS does have offer all the charm of a traditional school site, have decent-sized classrooms, and have plenty of outdoor space.

During our visit, the caring side of this school really shone though. Located next to a community garden, there’s a parent-teacher cottage that gives parents their own base at the school. And there are positive messages displayed throughout the school, from the teacher’s quote on every classroom door to Biblical proverbs painted by students on corridor walls.

ICS offers value for money, traditional ethos and a values-based education, as well as a huge sense of community. It is a much-loved small school with a heart and clear purpose of investment in children rather than glitz and glamour. The general feedback from parents is that ICS's biggest strengths are its community feel, the sense of belonging that students have, and the small class sizes.
