There are now 28 schools in Singapore offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), after EtonHouse International School, Orchard became the latest school to join the list.
From August 2020, Year 12 students at EtonHouse’s Orchard campus have started to study the two-year pre-university course; it is the first EtonHouse school in Singapore to offer the IBDP. This now widens the choice for families looking for an IB education.
Parents now have the choice of 28 international, private and local schools in Singapore that are authorised by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organisation) to offer the IBDP, including seven that are full IB schools and also follow the IB Primary Years (PYP) and Middle Years Programmes (MYP). This number may increase as North London Collegiate School, Singapore (opened in August 2020) plans to offer the programme once it receives accreditation by the IBO.
While some of these are IB continuum schools, others offer a choice of the UK, US, Australian, German or Indian curricula in the primary and middle years. Stamford American International School is the only school in Singapore to offer students the choice of studying the IBDP and/or Advanced Placement courses.

There are seven full IB schools offering all three programmes including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the IBDP. The IB's three programmes were not actually designed as a continuum. Each is a standalone framework and curriculum, developed at different times and stages of the IB's evolution. Increasingly, the IB organisation is moving to provide an overarching framework for children from 11 through to 19. Even with this, however, it is not necessary, or even usual for a school to offer all programmes.
The following schools offer the IB continuum:
Canadian International School (Lakeside Campus)
Chatsworth International School (Bukit Timah Campus)
GEMS World Academy, Singapore
GESS
Hillside World Academy
ISS International School Singapore (High School)
Stamford American International School
Tuition fees for the IBDP range from the lowest, where annual tuition fees are $25,000 or below at GIIS SMART Campus; St Francis Methodist School; NPS International School; and One World International School (OWIS).
The most expensive schools for the IBDP, where annual tuition fees are $40,000 and above, include Tanglin Trust School; Stamford American International School; Australian International School, Singapore; UWCSEA; Overseas Family School; Nexus, GEMS World Academy (Singapore); Canadian International School; Australian International School; and Dulwich College, Singapore.
The majority of international schools follow an August/September to June/ July academic year, and IBDP exams are taken in May.
However, the following schools run from January to December and exams are taken in November: Australian International School, ACS (International) Singapore, Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), St Francis Methodist School; St. Joseph's Institution International; and St. Joseph's Institution.
